 Don't Miss:

A handful of the Vernon Daily Courier’s many contributors and columnists:
David Wylie – Rarely pulling punches, our managing editor has been known to stir the community cauldron with his topical, local editorials.

Kaye Corbett - A Cedar Hills resident and former Toronto Sun original and executive editor of the Edmonton Sun: preacher, actor, singer, linebacker, wrestler, rancher, radio announcer, television host, African relief organization director, Middle East Bureau chief, world's worst golfer and Santa Claus. Corbett’s column covers an eclectic mix of local and global topics and appears almost daily.

Keith Schiehl - owner and operator of Rent-A-Geek, a Vernon computer tech company. Schiehl loves the “gee-whiz” factor of unique technology, and despises the lack of friendly user documentation. He writes every other Thursday on topics relevant to home computer users and small business.

Scott Neufeld – Our reporter has worked for newspapers in Merritt, Nanaimo and Ladysmith. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University in history and criminology and has a knack for breaking local news stories.

George Dobie – a retired newspaperman living in Vernon. He was with the United Press for 10 years, running bureaus all over western Canada. He spent three decades with the Vancouver Sun – 12 of those years as their labour reporter. Dobie shares his often light-hearted views on provincial and federal issues once a week. He includes references to hockey wherever possible.

Dominik Dlouhy - a chartered financial analyst and planner with Partners in Planning Financial Services Ltd. and The Fraser Financial Group in Vernon. He writes a weekly column aimed at helping readers make intelligent decisions about financial issues they may face throughout their lives. He also spent 10 years working and living overseas as a financial analyst in Asian and Africa. He moved to North Okanagan “because it’s the nicest place in the world to live and raise a family.”

Gerry Laarakker - a Vernon-based lawyer, gives timely advice without tangling readers in the garble of “legalese”. Some of his favourite topics include wills, probate, and business advice.

Arlena de Bruin - an Okanagan freelance writer, who pens about the bright side of raising twin boys. Her wit will leave you aching from belly laughs.

Courtenay Pitcher - the client liaison for Lava Marketing, a Vernon creative firm that develops marketing plans, websites and print materials. Her column brings to the forefront many of the city’s burgeoning businesses.

David Skelhon - a professional photographer living in Vernon. He specializes in aerial photography, but gives wide-ranging advice on using cameras and related equipment. In the summer, David also writes about his other passion – boating.

Sam Tumlinson - an avid hunter and fisherman living in Vernon. Rarely do his columns include a serious moment, as he brings his perspective on playing in the outdoors.

And many more....
